The conference hotel (BOSCOLO HOTEL PLAZA****) offers rooms at special rate for SiO2 attendees.

- Single occupancy room: 199 euros/night

- Double occupancy room: 209 euros/night

These rates include buffet breakfast, but not the tourist tax (2.25 euros/person/night)

Of course, there are lots of hotels downtown so you can choose to stay elsewhere. However, please remember that Nice will host part of the European Football Championship (UEFA Euro 2016). Matches are notably schedulded at the Nice Stadium on june 12 and 17, 2016.

Special offer: room block

The local organization committee has negotiated a block of 20 rooms in the brand-new hall of residence “Valrose” close to the Parc Valrose which hosts the Faculty of Sciences.

This apartment building, operated by the CROUS (regional student welfare office), is located downtown, 20 min away from the conference hotel (approx. 15 min tramway + 5 min walk). We remind you that a 3-day public transportation pass (valid in buses and tramways) is included in the conference fee so the use of tramway will not generate any additional charge for registered attendees.

The room block is open up to May 16 (block dates: June 12-15). After this date, availability is not guaranteed. Since the CROUS only proposes 20 single occupancy rooms, the simple principle « first-come, first-served » applies.

To make a reservation, please email directly the CROUS at: valrose@crous-nice.fr with copy at sio2-2016@sciencesconf.org. The subject of your email should be « SiO2 2016 Symposium : room reservation request ».

Payment must be done by bank transfer. Payment by cash or credit/debit card is not accepted. Both reservation and payment should be directly done to the CROUS; please come to an agreement with them at the specified email address (we cannot manage reservation/payment for you).

ROOM DETAIL:

Location: Hall of residence "Valrose", 1 chemin Bessi, 06100 NICE (Tramway Line 1, direction "Henri Sappia", stop "Valrose Université"). See map/itinerary and photo below.

Room: 18 m² studio including single bed with bed linen, bath towels, welcome kit, desk, kitchenette, bathroom, wifi.

Rate: 155.10 euros/person for 3 nights from June 12 to June 15, including tax (this gives 51.70 euros/person/night including tax). 

Note: This price is attractive, but not divisible. Even if you plan to stay 1 or 2 nights only, you will be charged for the 3-night block at 155.10 euros.
